Seriously, there is so much more to training than just teaching your dog to sit.  If you are ready to take your dog's skills to the next level of learning let's get started!
Basic Manners for a Terrific Family Dog is perfect for any dog older than 5 months old and covers all the basics.  Everything you want and lots you didn't know you needed.

"I wish I had found Jennifer when Quincy was 8 weeks - she encourages you to work to figure out your dog rather than simply making it "do what I say or else". Love the relationship building with Quincy and watching her learn in a positive way. Jennifer has a great understanding of how dogs think and she passes her knowledge on in fun and meaningful experiences."
~Sarah M

"Jennifer's style is calm and gentle. It is as much my training as it is training for my dog. I have a better understanding on how to be consistent with my behavior and to know what to expect from my dog. This helps me to be more patient and has allowed for a better working relationship between my dog and myself."
~Paddy D

"This Class Was Worth Every Penny!"

You care about dogs and you have taught me to be a better listener to my dog. You have an ocean of patience when it comes to training, and you are a good role model of that for me.
~Janet D

When we decide to bring a dog into our lives, we are making a commitment to another living being.
Dogs should not be treated as mere objects to conform to our ideal vision of a pet.

Our responsibility is to create a safe and nuturing environment for them and help them adapt to the human world. What others refer to as "training," I prefer to think of as "teaching." We teach them the skills they need to thrive in our world. Since many of their natural behaviors may not align with our expectations, I prioritize teaching self-regulation as a foundational behavior.
Rather than solely focusing on obedience, I aim to help people understand behavioral concepts that foster a deeper understanding of their dogs.

Each dog that has shared my life has taught me valuable lessons that I bring to my students. Couple that with the 10+ years I have been professionally training and you get a teacher that has a wealth of knowledge to pass on to you.

I’ve created this course to help you learn to see the dog in front of you. To build a relationship not based on obligation but based on a deep abiding love for each other.

"Jennifer is a great teacher"

I have trained a couple of generations of dogs in my life, but I am learning so much from the classes. Of all the approaches I have learned, I can easily say her style matches my own thoughts and style. This is not as easy to find as you would hope. I continue to learn and attribute Rio's excellent start to building the strong foundation that Jennifer has guided us towards.  I look forward to learning even more and believe I am already a better guardian for all my dogs from taking these classes.
~Wes L

"We are so appreciative of her guidance and support!"
Jennifer is an excellent people trainer! She is great at showing dog owners how to elicit appropriate behaviors from their dogs. Her stress on consistency and kindness are excellent. I would recommend Namastay training to anyone needing help with their dog.
